African Processional
The grand processional marks
the official beginning of the festival. African and African-American
volunteers will be dressed as the royal kings and queens of Ghana,
altogether representing the Ga, Ashanti, Dagomba and Ewe royal families.
Homowo provides the costumes, the expertise in wearing the costumes
correctly and background information about the history of the processional
in Ghana.
Processional volunteers are
required to come to an informational meeting the week before the event.
The Processional will take place on Saturday August 9th
at 1pm. All processional volunteers should arrive at the festival
site by 11AM sharp.
